Baby loss is a complicated loss to grieve.
Sometimes there is a tangible person who you have spent time with, often there is not.
We lose a baby with whom we had a lifetime of plans, rather than a person with whom we had a lifetime of memories and that makes this particular type of loss so complicated and easy to dismiss.
We lose our child, who we are, who we were going to be as a parent and a family and we still live through all those milestones and wonder how it may have been.
Often those around us don’t know, or move on quicker than we are ready to, leaving us feeling lonely and bereft.
Early miscarriage, late miscarriage, missed miscarriage, twin loss, ectopic pregnancy, recurrent miscarriage and still birth are all devastating for those affected.
Choice can add further complication and guilt and therefore we support termination for medical or personal reasons.
Sometimes we feel compelled to replace that baby immediately, whether we get pregnant then or not this can add additional emotional turmoil at an already extremely painful and vulnerable time.
At some point you may need to talk in order to process that loss and whether it was a recent experience or a part of your past we are here to hear you and help you move forward.
Book an initial consultation to talk about what you need from grief counselling.
We have also set up dedicated Facebook groups depending on your current situation. You can view and join these groups here.
